Julius Stenzel
Julius Stenzel graduated from Pomona College in California, where he studied violoncello with Margot Jean. After singing lessons with Lillian Loran in San Francisco he performed as a baritone in a men's trio in Renaissance and Baroque music, as well as in contemporary opera with the Port Costa Players.
In Brussels he played violoncello with the Orchestre Symphonique de la RTBF from 1977 until its folding in 1991. He is a founder and regular continuo player of the monthly cantata group La Chapelle des Minimes. He plays and teaches 'cello, baroque music and chamber music. He has been Musical Director of the Brussels Madrigal Singers since 1992.
